A new online resource from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine will help you get some sleep. That is, you’ll get important sleep-related news and updates.

The AASM launched the SleepEducation Blog on Jan. 1. The blog is a companion to the AASM’s SleepEducation.com Web site.

Daily posts on the blog provide expert commentary on issues related to sleep.  They also examine sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleep apnea. Posts also highlight relevant news and new research.

“The American Academy of Sleep Medicine provides the public with the most accurate information about sleep and sleep disorders,” said AASM President Dr. Mary Susan Esther. “The blog is another tool we can use to keep people informed with timely updates.”

Visitors to the blog can subscribe to the posts. You also can add your own comments to the daily discussion.

The AASM launched SleepEducation.com in 2005. It also maintains an online directory of AASM-accredited sleep disorders centers at www.sleepcenters.org.

The AASM was established in 1975. It sets standards and promotes excellence in sleep medicine health care, education and research. Learn more about the AASM at www.aasmnet.org.
