The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) introduces the 2009 – 2010 AASM High School Topical Review in Sleep Science Contest.
This contest recognizes excellence in the understanding of scientific research and in the preparation of a topical review paper. High school juniors and seniors in the U.S. are eligible to enter.
The 1st-place prize winner will receive a $1,000 U.S. savings bond. He or she also will win a trip for two to the historic city of San Antonio, Texas, from June 6 to 8, 2010.
Home to attractions such as the legendary Alamo, the vibrant downtown River Walk, Six Flags and SeaWorld, San Antonio offers visitors a dynamic experience. It also will host the SLEEP 2010 24th Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies; at this meeting the contest winner will be recognized by the AASM.
All prize winners will have their paper posted on the SleepEducation.com Web site. These papers also will be considered for publication in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, the official publication of the AASM and a leading scientific journal in the sleep field.
To enter the contest students must submit an original review paper and a completed contest Entry Form to the AASM national office by Friday, Jan. 15, 2010.
